A fire broke out in a wooded area in the Zekeriyaköy neighborhood of Sarıyer. The fire, which was also supported by aerial intervention, was brought under control as a result of the intensive efforts of firefighting teams.

A fire broke out for an unknown reason around 14:00 in a wooded area located in the Zekeriyaköy neighborhood of Sarıyer. Upon notification by those in the vicinity, numerous firefighting teams were dispatched to the area. The teams, with the support of a helicopter, brought the fire under control in a short time.
Due to the fire, extensive security measures were also taken in the surrounding area by municipal police, firefighters, and forestry teams. Teams dispatched to the scene for animals affected by the fire intervened to assist animals such as tortoises that were impacted. While the flames did not spread to a wider area thanks to the cooling efforts of the firefighting teams, investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.

A citizen named Bünyamin Özkan, who rushed to help upon seeing the fire, said, "When I noticed the fire on the road, I came to help. What we see here is very sad. The forest has burned very badly. If it had been in a shallow area, the consequences could have been worse. A tortoise burned here. I tried to pull it out from the bushes thinking it might still be alive, but unfortunately, it died. Please, let's not light fires near forests."
