A chase that took place in the early hours of the morning in Istanbul's Sultanbeyli district ended in death. A light commercial vehicle with license plate 34 NSV 932, which did not comply with a "stop" order at a police checkpoint in Kartal, began to flee from the teams. The pursuit continued until Fatih Boulevard in the Mecidiye neighborhood of Sultanbeyli.
CRASHED INTO A TRUCK, THE CHASE ENDED
Around 01:50, the vehicle, traveling at high speed, crashed into the rear of a parked truck trailer after the driver lost control. As a result of the impact, the vehicle was reduced to scrap metal, and a loud noise echoed in the surrounding area.
ONE DEAD, ONE WOUNDED
Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the region. Initial examinations by the teams determined that Y.G., who was in the vehicle, had lost their life at the scene. The other person in the same vehicle was captured wounded during an armed clash with police while attempting to flee.
CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION COMPLETED
Police took extensive security measures in the area following the accident. While crime scene investigation teams conducted detailed work, Y.G.'s lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue. The vehicle involved in the accident was removed from the scene with the help of a tow truck. The investigation is ongoing.
