Found in a freezer on a boat: The truth behind the murder of Hilmiye Tuğba Esgin revealed

On August 6, while conducting routine checks at the fishing shelter near the Bostanlı pier in Karşıyaka, İzmir, a narcotics dog named Zeytin on a Coast Guard boat detected a foul odor coming from a boat docked at the shore.

Following Zeytin's barking, the teams inspected the boat. During the search, a woman's body was found inside a freezer on the boat.

The body was identified as belonging to 26-year-old hairdresser Hilmiye Tuğba Esgin. Following the incident, police detained the boat owner Şenol A., his wife Belgin A., and the boat mechanic K.B.Ö.

THE TRUTH BEHIND THE MURDER REVEALED

The statements of boat owner Şenol A. and his wife Belgin A. have emerged.

According to a report by Sabah, as part of the investigation coordinated by the Karşıyaka Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an examination of the mobile phone belonging to boat owner Şenol A. revealed that he was also having an affair with Hilmiye Tuğba Esgin's married sister.

THE KILLER CONFESSED TO THE MURDER

When shown the messages on his mobile phone, Şenol A. was forced to confess to the murder. Şenol A. stated that he slapped his lover Tuğba Esgin during an argument and that the young woman fell to the ground.

It was learned that in his statement, Şenol A. said, "Tuğba saw our messages with her sister. We argued. During the argument, I slapped her and she fell to the ground." On the other hand, it was understood that Belgin A. had stayed on the boat for one day while the body was in the freezer.

"I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A BODY ON THE BOAT"

In her statement, Belgin A. said, "I did not know there was a body on the boat. When I stayed on the boat, I smelled a heavy odor, but I thought it was the smell of a dead cat."

It was learned that the police procedures for the 3 suspects have been completed and they will be referred to the courthouse today.
