According to data from the resolution platform Şikayetvar, there has been a 182 percent increase in complaints regarding Umrah and Hajj tours compared to 2024. Citizens state that after making payments via IBAN, they are unable to reach the tour companies and have been victimized both financially and emotionally.

'THEY ARE PLAYING WITH PEOPLE'S RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS'

Fraud cases, which have increased particularly through the exploitation of religious sentiments, are drawing attention. Citizens who are unable to travel to the holy lands despite paying high sums complain about not being able to find anyone to address their concerns.

One victim stated, 'They took the money we saved with great difficulty and disappeared,' noting that they were defrauded of amounts ranging from 38 thousand TL to 200 thousand TL. Another citizen expressed, 'They are playing with people's religious sentiments; this must be stopped.' Other victims are also trying to make their voices heard by stating that there are thousands of others in similar situations.
