Same accident again on the Northern Marmara Motorway! Car crashes under a semi-truck at the toll booths

In Istanbul's Pendik district, a driver lost their life in an accident that occurred this morning at the Mecidiye Toll Booths on the Northern Marmara Motorway.

The light commercial vehicle, a Fiat Fiorino with license plate 34 HMN 436, which was traveling in the direction of Ankara, crashed into the rear of a semi-truck with license plate 59 FG 563 that was paying at the toll booths.

Due to the impact of the crash, the commercial vehicle became wedged under the semi-truck. Following the incident, which took place around 08:00, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The driver, who was trapped inside the vehicle, was extracted through the intensive efforts of the fire department; however, medical teams determined that the driver had passed away at the scene. The body of the deceased driver was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue.

While the commercial vehicle was reduced to scrap metal as a result of the accident, a comprehensive investigation into the incident has been launched.

In another accident that occurred in the same region two days ago, four people lost their lives in a similar collision at the Kurnaköy Toll Booths.
