Governor's Office announces: 5 locations in that province declared 'temporary special security zones' for 9 days

The Şırnak Governor's Office has announced that temporary restrictions have been imposed in certain regions within the provincial borders for security reasons. The Dilekyolu, Tuzluca, Ayrancı, Çığlıca, and İncebeldağları regions located in the Beytüşşebap district have been declared "temporary special security zones" for a period of 9 days, effective from August 4, 2025.

In the statement made by the Governor's Office, it was emphasized that the decision was taken to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, and prevent crimes.

The statement included the following: "Within the provincial borders of Şırnak; in order to ensure national security, protect public order and safety, prevent the commission of crimes, protect fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public order, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations, pursuant to Article 11, paragraph (c) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565; the Şırnak Governor's Office has declared the Dilekyolu, Tuzluca, Ayrancı, Çığlıca, and İncebeldağları regions located within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak, for which coordinate information is available in the Annex, as 'Temporary Special Security Zones' for 9 days between August 4, 2025 (inclusive) and August 12, 2025 (inclusive), in order to prevent citizens who may be considered to travel to these regions from being harmed by illegal elements in said regions and the measures to be taken against them."

It was reminded that citizens may only enter these regions during the specified dates by obtaining permission. It was reported that sanctions will be applied if the regions are entered without permission. The Governor's Office statement also included the following warning:

"It is respectfully announced to the public that our citizens may enter the declared regions during these dates by obtaining permission from the authorized bodies within the scope of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565, and that otherwise, criminal proceedings will be applied in accordance with Article 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442."
