17-year-old Ahmet Ay, who had come to the Uluborlu district, located approximately 400 kilometers from Istanbul, as a seasonal worker with his family, fell into an irrigation pool used for supplying water to greenhouses on the morning of June 7. The young man, who was severely injured in the approximately 3-meter-deep pool, was rescued by health, fire, and police teams following reports from citizens in the area.

After receiving initial intervention, Ahmet Ay was taken to Uluborlu State Hospital, where he lost his battle for life. Doctors stated that despite all efforts, the young man could not be saved.

HE HAD COME FROM ŞANLIURFA TO WORK

It was learned that Ahmet Ay had come to Isparta from the Harran district of Şanlıurfa with his family and had interrupted his education for this reason.

The Uluborlu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an ex officio investigation into the incident. A team was sent to the region to determine how the accident occurred, the safety level of the irrigation pool, and whether necessary precautions had been taken.
