Mass poisoning at Beypiliç slaughterhouse in Bolu: 34 workers hospitalized

In Bolu, 34 workers were taken to hospitals after falling ill following a cleaning and disinfection process at a slaughterhouse owned by the Beypiliç company. It was reported that the workers are not in life-threatening condition.

Thirty-four workers were taken to hospitals with suspected poisoning following a cleaning and disinfection process carried out at a slaughterhouse owned by the Beypiliç company, located in the Vakıfgeçitveren village area of Bolu.

The cleaning and disinfection were performed in the slaughterhouse section one day prior, while no workers were present. Upon entering the area during the morning shift, 31 workers began to feel ill shortly after.

Following the workers' illness, the 112 Emergency Call Center was notified. Upon the report, numerous medical teams were dispatched to the area. The workers, who received initial treatment at the slaughterhouse, were subsequently taken to various hospitals in the city. It was also learned that 3 additional workers sought medical attention on their own.

It was stated that the total of 34 workers under treatment are not in life-threatening condition. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
