Ministry imposes 3.7 million TL fine on İzmir Metropolitan Municipality

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that a fine of 3 million 739 thousand 452 liras has been imposed on the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality due to environmental pollution caused by open-air waste dumping.

According to the statement on the Ministry's social media account, inspections carried out by the İzmir Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in the Tire district revealed that "wild waste dumping" was taking place in an open area in the Karateke locality.

In accordance with the relevant environmental law, an administrative fine of 3 million 739 thousand 452 liras was imposed on the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Additionally, a criminal complaint has been filed against those responsible.
