New pocket bus terminal opened in Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) has taken an important step for passengers traveling to Thrace by opening the Büyükçekmece Pocket Bus Terminal. The opening ceremony of the terminal, which is expected to serve 5 thousand passengers daily, was attended by İBB Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan, Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayor Hakan Çebi, and Beylikdüzü Deputy Mayor Önder Serkan Çebi.

According to ANKA, Aslan emphasized in his speech that Istanbul is a global city, stating, "We are working to improve the quality of life for our citizens in Istanbul. With the vision of our Mayor Ekrem and our people-oriented municipal approach, we will continue to work with all our strength to make our city more livable."

FEATURES OF THE BÜYÜKÇEKMECE POCKET BUS TERMINAL

The Büyükçekmece Pocket Bus Terminal draws attention with its location close to the metrobus terminus, the TÜYAP Fair Center, and universities in the region. With 4 thousand 500 square meters of open space and 500 square meters of indoor space, the terminal will make journeys to Thrace more organized with its cafeteria and passenger service areas.

The new terminal will eliminate the irregular transportation activities previously carried out in shopping malls and gas stations in the region, offering an orderly and safe system. Furthermore, transportation companies that were subject to penalties due to the lack of an official terminal will now be able to operate in a legal space.

The terminal, where scheduled services to the Thrace region will be organized, will provide transportation to the provinces of Edirne, Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, and Çanakkale. With 250 daily trips planned, services at the terminal will take place at 15-30 minute intervals. The management of the terminal will be carried out by Boğaziçi Yönetim AŞ.
