The snowfall, which has been effective since the early hours of the day, has negatively affected urban traffic in Istanbul. In order to ensure transport safety, the Istanbul Governor's Office had temporarily suspended the movement of heavy-tonnage vehicles and motorcycle couriers throughout the city.

In the latest statement from the Governor's Office, it was announced that the traffic ban for heavy-load trucks and similar vehicles will be lifted today at 16:00. It was also stated that the ban on motorcycle couriers will end on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00.

It was noted that these temporary measures, which aim to reduce the risks posed by snowfall for drivers and prevent potential disruptions in urban transportation, will be terminated starting from the specified times.

As traffic flow in Istanbul is expected to return to normal, drivers and pedestrians are also being warned to exercise caution.
