Night of terror in Adana: Killer who murdered 2 people commits suicide after failing to escape police

In a bloody incident that took place in Adana, 22-year-old Mehmet Eser shot and killed two people with a handgun in an apartment. After fleeing the scene of the murder, Eser committed suicide when he was cornered by police at his hideout and realized he had nowhere left to run.

According to allegations, the incident occurred in the Gürselpaşa neighborhood of the Seyhan district. Mehmet Eser met with Mesut Savuran (37) and Abdülhakim Demirbaş (20) in an apartment. However, the meeting soon turned into an argument. As the argument escalated, Eser drew his handgun and fired multiple shots at Savuran and Demirbaş. The two individuals, who were shot in the chest, collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood.

Upon the notification of neighborhood residents who heard the gunshots, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. In their examination, medical personnel determined that both individuals had lost their lives.

Following the murder, teams from the Adana Police Department's Public Security Branch, Homicide Bureau, determined that Mehmet Eser was hiding in an apartment in the Reşatbey neighborhood. Noticing the police who arrived at the address for the operation, Eser climbed onto the roof of the building and attempted to flee. However, realizing that there was no possibility of escape, the killer pointed the handgun he was carrying at his head, pulled the trigger, and ended his life.
