Person who killed his mother and wounded his father released

In Kocaeli, the individual who killed his mother and wounded his father has been released under judicial control.

The incident occurred yesterday at an apartment building on Kazım Karabekir Street in the Yeni neighborhood. Mustafa Y. arrived at the home of his ex-wife, Sözen Tutci, and opened fire with a handgun. While the woman, who was the target of the bullets, fell to the ground covered in blood, Mustafa Y. also shot his son, Vedat Y., in the leg as he tried to intervene. Vedat Y., having retrieved his own weapon from the house, fired back and wounded his father.

Upon reports from citizens, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that Sözen Tutci had lost her life. The suspect, Mustafa Y., was taken to Kocaeli City Hospital, while his son, Vedat Y., was taken to Necati Çelik State Hospital. After his treatment at the hospital, Vedat Y. was taken into custody and subsequently released under judicial control at the courthouse, where he was transported in a wheelchair.

It was learned that Mustafa Y.'s treatment at the hospital is ongoing.

It was reported that Sözen Tutci had divorced her husband 7 years ago, and that one of her 5 children, Sinan Y., had lost his life in a traffic accident that occurred on the Northern Marmara Motorway last March.
