An "Ultra Light" class training aircraft that took off from the Kelaynak Airstrip in the Özler neighborhood of the central Yüreğir district yesterday crashed into a citrus orchard a short time later.

The 39-year-old pilot, Burak Yürekli, and the 30-year-old passenger, Şeyda Doğan, who were on the plane, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. The moment the plane crashed into the citrus orchard was captured on a mobile phone camera.

It was learned that Şeyda Doğan, who was a passenger on the plane, had come to the Kelaynak Airstrip with her boyfriend for a marriage proposal and taken off. In the footage, Doğan's boyfriend is heard calling out to his girlfriend via a radio in his hand, asking, "Will you marry me?" Şeyda Doğan is heard saying "yes" to this proposal.

After the young woman says "yes," the plane crashes into the citrus orchard.
