These images, published by the account named "Gıda Dedektifi" (Food Detective), reached a wide audience in a short time and caused public outcry.
Acting upon the reports received, municipal police teams went to the market to conduct inspections. A penalty was imposed on the market on the grounds that hygiene rules were violated. Furthermore, all products in the produce section were removed from the shelves and destroyed.
