Russia strikes Turkish ship carrying 4,000 tons of LPG

Russian forces targeted the Turkish ship ORINDA, which was docked at the Port of Izmail in Ukraine's Odesa region and carrying approximately 4,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Residents of the Romanian village of Plauru were evacuated due to the risk of explosion from the ship, which caught fire following the Russian attack.

As a result of an attack by the Russian military on an energy facility in Odesa belonging to Ukraine's largest energy company, DTEK, 36,500 households were left without electricity.

Authorities stated that electricity has been restored to 4,000 households using backup lines, while repair work for the remaining 32,500 households is expected to take a long time.

Following the attack, BMG Denizcilik ve Danışmanlık Limited Şirketi issued the following statement:

"All of our personnel are in good health. The fire on the ship continues following the attack, and necessary interventions are being carried out in coordination with the relevant local authorities and officials. Our priority is the safety of our crew, and developments will be shared with the public."
