Sentence requested for teacher Fatma's murderer has been determined
In the indictment prepared following the murder of teacher Fatma Çelik, who worked at a high school in Istanbul, heavy sentences were requested for the defendant.

Details of the investigation into the teacher murder that took place on March 2 at the Borsa Istanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Istanbul have emerged. In the indictment completed by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was requested that the defendant be tried on charges of "premeditated murder of a woman while performing her duty, with monstrous intent."
Furthermore, the indictment stated that on the day of the incident, the suspect attempted to kill not only Fatma Çelik but also other teachers and students. In this context, it was requested that the defendant also be tried for "attempted premeditated murder of a child with monstrous intent" and "attempted premeditated murder of a public official with monstrous intent." The prosecution requested a total prison sentence of up to 126 years for the defendant.
According to information in the judicial file, the attack was planned months in advance. Security camera footage showed the suspect wandering the floors of the school on the day of the incident, following classrooms where teachers were present and waiting for an opportunity. It was also revealed that the suspect hid in a restroom for a period of time.
The Forensic Medicine report stated that the suspect was of sound mind and committed the murder consciously and with the "intent to kill."
Digital evidence and witness statements revealed that the suspect had an excessive interest in violent games and massacre-themed content. Statements indicating that the suspect had previously told people around him that he "wanted to kill someone" were included in the investigation file. Additionally, it was alleged that he was nicknamed "Dexter" by his circle of friends, in reference to the popular foreign TV series Dexter.
