A dispute between a tenant and a landlord in Ataşehir, Istanbul, has been taken to court.
According to a report by Sabah Newspaper, Nazım S., who had been living as a tenant in Tuncay K.'s house for a long time, ended up in court with his landlord due to issues regarding rent.
COULD NOT ENTER THE HOUSE AFTER LOCKS WERE CHANGED
When Nazım S. wanted to enter his home on May 21, he realized his key would not open the door. Seeking a solution, Nazım S. went to real estate agent Murat K. and learned that the door lock had been changed. However, the real estate agent stated that he had nothing to do with the incident. The tenant, who managed to enter his home with the help of a locksmith, noticed that some of his valuable belongings kept inside were missing.
CLAIMED HIS VALUABLES WERE STOLEN
According to Nazım S.'s claim, 800 Euros, 10 thousand liras, a replica Rolex watch, gold jewelry, and a mobile phone had disappeared from the house. Upon this, the tenant filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office, accusing the landlord.
In the petition he submitted to the prosecutor's office, the tenant alleged that he called the landlord on the day of the incident and that Tuncay K. admitted to changing the locks. Nazım S. stated that the landlord told him over the phone that he would not give him the key, that notices and police were constantly coming to the house, and therefore he wanted him to cover the damages and vacate the property.
Furthermore, claiming that the landlord used threatening language, Nazım S. stated that he realized his valuables had been stolen when he entered his home.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION
Following the tenant's criminal complaint, the prosecutor's office launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. Landlord Tuncay K.'s defense and the details regarding the missing items will become clear during the investigation process.
