Footage recorded at a dessert production facility in the Akyazı district of Sakarya has caused public outrage. Following the discovery that an employee was kneading dough with his feet during the month of Ramadan, the business was sealed and shut down by municipal teams.

Following the recording of footage by a citizen showing a total disregard for hygiene rules at a dessert production facility named Gaziantepli Baklavacıoğlu operating in Akyazı, the Akyazı Municipality police department took action. In the footage, which occurred during the month of Ramadan when dessert consumption increases and caused public outrage, an employee was seen kneading dough with his feet in the production area.
Upon this, municipal police teams raided the firm and launched an investigation. During the inspections, it was noted that employees were working in the production area without hairnets or arm guards and with bare feet, and that areas that should have been sterile had turned into a virtual dump.
Following the inspections conducted in both the production area and the retail store, the facility and store in question were sealed and shut down.
