Stung on the tongue while eating honey, he lost his life
In the village of Kemerli in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin, 54-year-old Burhan Gündüz noticed a beehive while walking in a wooded area. Curious, Gündüz wanted to take some honey, but while doing so, he was stung by a bee inside the honeycomb. Gündüz, whose friends notified medical teams, was taken to the hospital but lost his life despite all interventions.

On Friday, September 20, 54-year-old Burhan Gündüz was walking with a friend in a wooded area in the rural village of Kemerli in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin when he noticed that bees had built a hive in a tree hollow.
Wanting to taste the honey produced by the bees, Gündüz took some honey from the tree hollow.
As he was tasting the honey he had taken, a bee hidden inside the honey stung Gündüz on the tongue. When Gündüz began to feel ill, his friends notified medical teams.
Gündüz was taken to Mazıdağı State Hospital by ambulance, but he could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life.
