In a press statement made at the Karamürsel Alp Memorial Tomb, MHP Karamürsel District Chairman Adnan Göktekin noted that Demiral, who is from Karamürsel, has been the pride of the country since the day he first wore the national team jersey.
Stating that they know and love Demiral as a moral and gentlemanly athlete who is committed to his national and spiritual values and history, Göktekin used the following expression regarding UEFA's decision: "It seems that the success of the Turkish national team has been hard for some to swallow, and the presence of the Turkish flag and the grey wolf symbol has driven enemies of the Turks into a frenzy."
Emphasizing that they are proud of Demiral and stand behind him all the way, Göktekin proposed that Merih Demiral's name be given to the underpass in the district.
