Swimming ban in three districts of Istanbul

Restrictions on entering the sea have been imposed in the Istanbul districts of Şile, Arnavutköy, and Sarıyer, which border the Black Sea, due to the risk of high waves. The decisions were announced by the district governorships on the grounds of public safety.
The Şile District Governorship announced that, taking into account the wave heights predicted by the General Directorate of Meteorology and Windfinder data, swimming at the district's coasts, bays, and beaches is prohibited on August 13-14. It was stated that the ban decision was taken within the scope of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442.
The Arnavutköy District Governorship also reported that swimming will not be permitted on August 13, 14, 15, and 16 due to high wave heights.
In Sarıyer, following the latest meteorological assessments, it was determined that wave heights would be high on August 13-14. In this context, it was decided to close Kısırkaya Public Beach to both the sea and beach access.
Authorities emphasized that citizens must comply with the warnings and bans to prevent potential negative incidents.
