TikTok announced that it removed a total of 7 million 97 thousand 236 videos in Turkey during the January-July period of 2024 on the grounds that they contained content violating community guidelines.
Emir Gelen, TikTok's Director of Public Policy for METAPSA, stated that AI-supported systems and manual review teams work together to ensure safety.
MEASURES AGAINST FAKE ACCOUNTS AND AGE LIMITS
The platform announced that it closed more than 427 million accounts worldwide during the same period. Of these accounts, 379.7 million were removed from the platform on the grounds that they were fake, and 41.8 million were removed due to suspicions that they were created by users under the age of 13. It was announced that work is underway on new AI-supported technologies to prevent false age declarations.
AIMS TO INCREASE USER SAFETY
TikTok is continuously strengthening its content moderation systems to increase user safety. Following a comprehensive moderation strategy with manual review teams in addition to AI-supported systems, the platform aims to make the user experience safer by quickly detecting content that violates community guidelines.
