Two brothers who died in a fire in Silifke laid to rest in the same grave

The incident, which occurred in the morning at a two-story detached house in the Mukaddem neighborhood of Mersin's Silifke district, has plunged the district into mourning. The fire that broke out in the house located on 220th Street resulted in the deaths of two young brothers.

DISASTER STRUCK WHILE MOTHER WAS AT THE MARKET

According to allegations, after father Halil Türker left for work, mother Ayşenur Türker left her children, Poyraz Efe Türker (1) and Ayaz Emre Arlı (7), at home and went to a market about 300 meters away to buy bread. While the mother was away, the fire, which is believed to have been caused by a stove, grew rapidly.

TEAMS DISPATCHED, TRAGIC NEWS ARRIVED

Upon returning from the market, the mother and local residents noticed the flames and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the area. While the flames were intervened and the fire was brought under control, it was determined that the two children in the house had lost their lives.

BODIES TAKEN TO THE MORGUE

Following the investigations conducted by security forces and the prosecutor's office at the scene, the bodies of brothers Poyraz Efe and Ayaz Emre were taken to the hospital morgue. The tragedy caused great sadness in the neighborhood.

FINAL JOURNEY IN THE SAME COFFIN

After the procedures at the hospital were completed, the funeral of the two brothers was taken from the Silifke State Hospital Morgue and brought to the Ulugöz Neighborhood Cemetery. A funeral prayer was held at the cemetery for the brothers, who were brought down from the hearse in a single coffin.

LAID TO REST IN THE SAME GRAVE

Brothers Poyraz Efe and Ayaz Emre were buried in the same grave amidst tears. In addition to the family, Silifke District Governor Abdullah Aslaner, some protocol members, relatives, and many citizens attended the funeral ceremony.
