Advice from 'Snake-Man' Kemal to a black snake: I might not be here next time
A 1.5-meter-long black snake found in a washing machine in a house in Hatay was released back into the wild by Kemal Başer, known as 'Snake-Man Kemal.' Başer gave the snake a striking warning, saying, Dear black snake, I might not be here next time; stay away from people. Otherwise, they will kill you.

In the Payas district of Hatay, a black snake that emerged from underground due to hot weather conditions was found in a house's washing machine. The approximately 1.5-meter-long snake was captured in a controlled manner by fire crews called to the scene. It was later handed over to Kemal Başer, who is known in the region as "Snake-Man Kemal" and works in pest control.
Kemal Başer took the snake to an area surrounded by nature, away from people. While releasing the snake into the wild, he turned to it and warned it with the words, "Dear black snake, I might not be here next time; stay away from people. Otherwise, they will kill you."
Emphasizing that black snakes are of great importance for the natural balance, Başer shared the following information:
"The black snake does not pose a direct threat to humans and is non-venomous. It generally feeds on rodents like mice. If it has entered a house, it is a sign that there are rodents in that house. Black snakes come by picking up the scent of rodents. Mice do not approach areas where a snake has traveled; likewise, snakes come to places where there are mice. It may bite and exhibit aggressive behavior, but its bite does not harm humans. Of course, since it feeds on rodents, it may carry some bacteria. However, it is indispensable for the ecosystem. It can even hunt vipers, which are venomous snake species. It is truly a 'mouse hunter.' For this reason, let us not kill black snakes. Because they do not attack humans."
