Heavy rainfall in Artvin has caused floods and landslides. Life has been negatively affected, particularly in coastal districts and Borçka. Following the downpours, the Borçka-Macahel highway was closed to traffic due to a landslide, and transportation to 6 villages in the Araklı, Atanoğlu, and Macahel Valley regions has been completely cut off.
The overflowing of the Efeler Creek following the heavy rains left surrounding agricultural lands and village roads underwater. While power outages are occurring in the region, teams are continuing their efforts to reopen the closed roads.
On the other hand, there has been a significant rise in water levels at the Borçka Karagöl Nature Park, one of Artvin's important tourism spots, due to the impact of the rains. Some social facilities around Karagöl have been left underwater. Access to the area has been temporarily restricted for the safety of visitors.
