Footage of the moment a young man was shot while withdrawing money from an ATM has emerged!

Security camera footage of the moment 22-year-old Ali Gültekin was shot and killed while withdrawing money from an ATM in Samsun has come to light. The trial of the 3 defendants arrested in connection with the incident has begun.

In the incident that took place on November 14, 2024, in the Atakent neighborhood of the Atakum district, Ali Gültekin was subjected to an armed attack while withdrawing money in front of an ATM. The young man, who was critically injured in the neck and head, was taken to the Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Faculty of Medicine Hospital. The three suspects who carried out the attack fled the scene and disappeared.

Teams from the Atakum District Police Department and the Public Security Branch launched an investigation immediately after the incident. As a result of the investigations, it was determined that the attack was carried out by a minor identified as K.D. (17), who has 6 separate criminal records, and that he was accompanied by M.A. (17), who has 2 criminal records, and S.K. (16), who has 8 criminal records. The three suspects surrendered to the police near the Derecik Cemetery along with the weapon used in the assassination. K.D., M.A., and S.K., who were taken into custody, were referred to the courthouse by the Juvenile Branch Directorate after their procedures. All three were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison.

Ali Gültekin, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, lost his life five days after the incident while undergoing treatment. A lawsuit was filed against the suspects at the Samsun 4th High Criminal Court. The defendants were present at the first hearing and their statements were taken. The court ruled for the continuation of the defendants' detention and adjourned the hearing to June 16.
