Four people were injured in an explosion that occurred in an apartment in the Bornova district of İzmir.
The explosion, which is believed to have been caused by natural gas, occurred in a fourth-floor apartment of a 7-story building on 162nd Street in the Kazım Dirik neighborhood.
A fire broke out in the apartment following the explosion.
Upon notification, health, police, and fire department teams were dispatched to the area.
Some residents who were trapped in their apartments were rescued by fire crews.
According to initial findings, the 4 people injured in the explosion were taken to nearby hospitals after receiving initial intervention from medical personnel.
While the fire was extinguished through the efforts of the fire department, damage occurred to the apartment building as well as some surrounding homes, businesses, and vehicles.
