He harassed a South Korean influencer: The requested sentence has been announced!

26-year-old South Korean streamer Hyojeong Park, known by the username Mhyochi on social media platforms, was subjected to both verbal and physical harassment during a live broadcast she was conducting in Kadıköy, Istanbul, on June 6. Park, whose discomfort during the broadcast was captured on camera, moved away from the individual harassing her and quickly left the area.

Footage of the incident spread quickly on social media and caused a widespread public outcry. Treating the footage as a report, the Istanbul Police identified the suspect. The individual was determined to be 71-year-old Yusuf Ziya A. Teams apprehended and detained the suspect in the Kavaklıpınar neighborhood of Pendik. Following his processing at the police station, Yusuf Ziya A. was referred to the courthouse and arrested on charges of "simple sexual assault."

The investigation into the incident conducted by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has been completed. The prepared indictment states that Yusuf Ziya A. approached Park while she was live streaming and held her hand and kissed it without her consent. It was noted that despite the streamer being uncomfortable with this contact and pulling her hand away, the suspect continued to walk beside her for a while, used disturbing sexually explicit language, touched her hip, and winked at her.

The indictment recorded that Park ran away to escape these harassments, which brought the suspect's actions to an end. Furthermore, according to an expert report, while Yusuf Ziya A.'s actions were found to be established, it was emphasized that the suspect's defenses lacked credibility and were aimed at evading punishment.

The prosecutor's office requested a prison sentence of 2 to 5 years for Yusuf Ziya A. for the crime of "sexual assault by molestation." The prepared indictment was accepted by the Anatolian 54th Criminal Court of First Instance. The suspect will appear before a judge on July 7.
