Snakes that have appeared in some neighborhoods in Bursa in recent days have caused panic among citizens. It is believed that the snakes, which are particularly seen in areas close to rural parts, are coming to residential areas due to the effect of hot weather.
Citizens who saw snakes in the Alanyurt, Fatih, Osmaniye, and Deydinler neighborhoods reported the situation to the municipality and fire department teams. Stating that they encountered snakes in their home gardens and surroundings, neighborhood residents expressed concern for the safety of their children and pets.
A snake that entered the engine compartment of a parked car in the Osmaniye neighborhood forced the driver to stop his journey. The driver waited for minutes for the snake to come out of the vehicle. One driver even lit a fire under his vehicle to remove a 1.5-meter-long snake that had entered the engine compartment. Those moments were captured on an amateur camera.
İnegöl Municipality announced that they have accelerated spraying and environmental cleaning efforts. The statement emphasized that caution should be exercised, especially around vacant lots, grassy areas, and water sources.
Experts, stating that snakes come to residential areas from their natural habitats during this period in search of food and cool places, warned citizens to remain calm and not to approach the snakes.
