Wedding meal in Trabzon sends 100 people to the hospital
In the Ortahisar district of Trabzon, approximately 100 people who consumed food served at a wedding at the groom's house were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning.

Some of the guests who attended a wedding celebration in the Dolaylı neighborhood of Trabzon's Ortahisar district and ate the chicken, rice, and stuffed vine leaves served at the event began experiencing nausea and vomiting shortly after leaving the venue. The guests, who fell ill, were directed to surrounding district hospitals, primarily Sürmene State Hospital, after receiving initial intervention. It was reported that the general health condition of those who sought medical attention is good and that they are being kept under observation.
GUESTS DESCRIBE THEIR EXPERIENCE
Zekeriya Aslan, who was taken to the hospital, described what happened: "After the meal, everyone started feeling nauseous on the way back. We vomited on the road, but some people were more severely affected, so we came to the hospital."
Another guest, Fatih Çoğalan, said, "I feel okay for now, but I have no strength. I ate the chicken; I wish I hadn't. I feel terrible. Thank God we arrived quickly and were able to be admitted to the hospital safely."
Adem Yıldız, another guest who shared his experience, stated, "We went to the wedding. We ate chicken, rice, and stuffed leaves, and this is the result. We experienced nausea and vomiting. We were put on IV drips and are waiting."
'THOSE WHO DID NOT EAT THE CHICKEN ARE FINE'
Some guests who arrived at the hospital did not show symptoms of poisoning but came to support their relatives. Salih Şahin, one of those individuals, commented on the food served at the wedding: "After the wedding ceremony held during the day, a celebration was organized in the Dolaylı neighborhood. We went there too. They served us food there. I didn't get poisoned because I didn't eat the food. We heard that those who specifically ate the chicken were poisoned at various intervals. However, we learned that those who did not eat the chicken were not poisoned. I don't know if the chicken was expired or not."

It was reported that investigations and sample analyses regarding the suspected food poisoning at the wedding are ongoing.
