It has been announced that one soldier from the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps lost his life in an airstrike conducted by the US on the Deir ez-Zor province of Syria during the night hours.

According to the Mehr News Agency, Iranian soldier Behruz Vahidi lost his life in the US airstrike on Deir ez-Zor. No information was provided regarding the rank of Vahidi, who was a soldier in the Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It had been alleged that the US carried out attacks on multiple military points belonging to Iranian-backed groups fighting alongside the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria's Deir ez-Zor province.

The territory of Deir ez-Zor east of the Euphrates River is under the occupation of the US-backed terrorist organization PKK/YPG, while the city center and other rural areas are under the control of the Assad regime and Iranian-backed groups.

Bases where the US military is stationed in Syria's Deir ez-Zor province are frequently targeted by armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of unknown origin and surface-to-surface weapons.

Iranian-backed groups west of the Euphrates are also occasionally targeted by aircraft of unknown origin.
