1 soldier killed, 12 soldiers injured

A bomb attack in Colombia's Antioquia department has left 1 soldier dead and 12 others injured.

According to reports from Anadolu Agency, Antioquia Army Commander Luis Eduardo Martinez announced that 1 soldier lost their life when a remote-controlled bomb was detonated during a military patrol in the rural areas of Turbo and San Pedro de Uraba. Martinez noted that 12 soldiers were also injured in the bomb attack, some of whom are in serious condition.

Extending his condolences to the family of the deceased soldier, Martinez stated that reinforcement units have been dispatched to the region to capture the attackers.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro condemned the attack in a post on his social media account, stating that security forces have been mobilized to capture those responsible.

Reports in the Colombian press have held the Clan del Golfo cartel responsible for the attack.
