In Russia's Dagestan region, an unnamed 10-year-old girl drowned in a pool where male lifeguards were 'prohibited' from working while women were using the facility. The pool's managers were fined 130,000 rubles (approximately 44,000 TL).
The 10-year-old girl lost her life by drowning in a public swimming pool where male lifeguards were forbidden from entering while women were present. The incident occurred in Russia's Dagestan region. Following the incident, the pool managers, who had implemented the policy regarding male lifeguards, were let off with a fine of 130,000 rubles, equivalent to 44,000 TL.
The girl, whose name has not been released to the public, struggled to survive for about 5 minutes before being pulled from the pool by her father. The father, who was in the men's section, jumped into the pool to try to save his daughter after hearing that she was drowning.
According to a report by The Mirror, the girl's mother was also present at the time of the drowning. The father, who arrived at the pool after hearing his wife's screams, pulled his daughter out while bystanders continued to watch.
It was reported that the girl struggled to survive on the water's surface for 5 minutes before drowning. Despite being pulled from the pool minutes after she began to drown, the girl lost her battle for life.

COURT RULING ON 'DAGESTANI MENTALITY'
Because there were no female lifeguards present at the time of the incident and male lifeguards were prohibited from entering the section of the pool used by women, no one was able to help the girl for 5 minutes.
The Dagestan Kazbekovsky District Court found the pool owner, Musa Patakhov, guilty, stating, 'It is mandatory for lifeguards to be present in the pool area at all times.'
However, the court panel added a note to the verdict stating, 'Given the Dagestani mentality, there are no swimming instructors in the pool where female visitors are present,' and sentenced Patakhov to a fine of 130,000 rubles (44,000 TL).
