French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the Iran-US ceasefire at the beginning of a cabinet meeting on defense today. Macron stated that he welcomed the ceasefire between Iran and the US.

The French leader said that following the declaration of a ceasefire between the US and Iran, approximately 15 countries have taken action to ensure the resumption of traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil supply passes.

Emmanuel Macron said, "Approximately 15 countries are currently mobilized under France's leadership and are participating in planning to implement a 'purely defensive' mission and ensure the resumption of traffic, in coordination with Iran."

In his speech, Macron also touched upon the situation in Lebanon. Calling for Lebanon, where the situation is critical, to be included in the agreement, Macron said, "In this context, our wish is to ensure that the ceasefire fully covers Lebanon as well."
