In the U.S. state of Indiana, a 10-year-old child lost his life after his 154-kilogram stepmother suffocated him by 'sitting on him' for 7 minutes.

According to court documents, 48-year-old Jennifer Lee Wilson is accused of killing young Dakota Levi Stevens, who was trying to escape to a neighbor's house in April.

According to the documents, Wilson is accused of sitting on the child in front of her house to prevent him from 'running away'.

As reported by local media, the woman attempted to call a social worker while the child, who weighed only 40 kilograms, was screaming, and eventually stopped moving.

SHE DID NOT GET OFF HIM DESPITE THE CHILD PASSING OUT

Doorbell camera footage shows that the woman continued to sit on the child even after he lost consciousness and passed out.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the 10-year-old child was not breathing. Following initial intervention by emergency medical teams, Dakota was taken to a local hospital, where it was announced that he passed away two days later.

Before his death, Dakota had gone to a neighbor's house and begged them to adopt him, saying he was being abused. The neighbor in question stated that they did not see any visible injuries on the child.

According to the local coroner's office, his death was ruled a homicide due to lack of oxygen.

It was reported that the stepmother sat on the child for approximately 7 minutes.

Wilson was arrested on Saturday. If found guilty, she faces up to 6 years in prison.
