16 people lost their lives in an armed attack in Nigeria's Plateau state.

James Oya, spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven in the country, stated in a press release that an attack was carried out by unidentified gunmen in the village of Mushu, located in Plateau state.
Oya stated that 16 people lost their lives in the attack and many others were injured.
Noting that security forces were dispatched to the scene, Oya said, "Security personnel have been deployed to the area to prevent any breakdown of law and order following the attack. There was an uprising following the incident, but the situation has been brought under control."
Nigeria's Plateau state has recently been the scene of attacks by armed individuals. Most recently, 11 people lost their lives in an attack in the state on December 5.
