2 bodies wash ashore on TRNC coast in 2 days

The lifeless bodies of two more people have washed ashore on the coast of the TRNC in the last 2 days. The TRNC Police Press Office announced that a male body was found washed ashore in the Çatalköy region of Kyrenia yesterday at approximately 08:15 local time. Police noted that another male body, with partial decomposition, was found washed ashore in the same region this morning. Police reported that the identities of both bodies have not yet been determined. It is believed that the bodies belong to irregular migrants who set out into the Mediterranean to reach the European Union (EU) or the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GCASC).

3 BODIES HAD WASHED ASHORE ON TRNC COASTS PREVIOUSLY

The lifeless bodies of 3 people had also washed ashore on TRNC coasts on January 8, 14, and 22. The first body was found on the rocks in the Bafra Hotels Region on January 8 at approximately 13:15 local time, and it was noted that the body, which had begun to decompose, belonged to a woman.

The second body was found in Dipkarpaz on January 14. In a statement made by the TRNC Police Press Office, it was stated that the body found on the rocks at the Piknik Burnu location in Dipkarpaz at approximately 09:30 local time belonged to a man.

The third body was found on January 22 on the southern coastline of Dipkarpaz, known as the Şelonez region. Police stated that the body belonged to a woman. It was announced that the identities of the bodies could not be determined.
