It has been reported that two planes collided in mid-air in the state of Arizona. While one of the planes managed to complete its landing maneuver, the other crashed into an empty field. Authorities noted that 2 people on the crashed plane lost their lives following the accident.

On Wednesday night, 2 planes were involved in an accident at Marana Regional Airport in the US state of Arizona. US officials stated that both aircraft were 'small single-engine planes.' While one of the planes landed safely, the other crashed into the ground and caught fire. Marana police stated that at least 2 people lost their lives in the crashed plane.
The US Federal Aviation Administration announced that a Lancair 360 MK 2 single-engine plane and a Cessna 172S type plane collided at Marana Regional Airport just before 8:30 AM local time. Officials shared the information that the airport where the collision occurred does not have an actively operating air traffic control tower.
According to an NBC News report, the Marana police published an announcement on Facebook stating that they have launched an investigation at the scene. The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also said they have launched an investigation into the accident.
The NTSB statement reported the following:
''The 2 planes collided upwind of runway 12 at Marana Regional Airport. The Cessna involved in the accident landed without incident. The Lancair crashed into the terrain near runway 3 and caught fire.''
Officials provided information that there were two passengers in each plane. No further details regarding the accident were released.

The American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that a passenger plane and a military helicopter collided near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on January 29. In the accident, the American Airlines plane carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, and the Black Hawk type helicopter with 3 military personnel on board, crashed into the Potomac River. Officials announced that there were no survivors from the accident.
US President Donald Trump said regarding the cause of the accident, 'The helicopter was in the wrong place at the wrong time.' Describing the event as a great tragedy, Trump stated, 'Unfortunately, there were no survivors of the crash.'
PLANES ALSO CRASHED IN SAN DIEGO AND ATLANTA
In San Diego, an E/A-18G Growler military aircraft crashed into the sea near Naval Air Station North Island. The Federal Aviation Administration announced that there were two pilots on the plane. Local sources reported that there were also two doctors, a patient, and a family member on the plane, and that a total of six people lost their lives.
In Atlanta, a single-engine plane crashed near Covington Municipal Airport shortly after takeoff. Officials stated that the two people on the plane lost their lives.
Meanwhile, a US military F-16 fighter jet also crashed in Alaska. The pilot survived the accident by ejecting with a parachute. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the NTSB are investigating the causes of the accidents.
