2 Turkish citizens stranded on Mount Elbrus have died
Two of the five Turkish citizens who were stranded while climbing Mount Elbrus in Russia's Kabardino-Balkaria region have lost their lives. It has been learned that the bodies of the deceased citizens will be brought to Turkey following the completion of funeral transport procedures.

According to information obtained from Ministry of Foreign Affairs sources, five Turkish citizens who went to climb Mount Elbrus in Russia's Kabardino-Balkaria region became stranded on the mountain on April 22, prompting the Embassy in Moscow and the Consulate General in Krasnodar to contact officials from the Russian Federation Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Russian authorities began search and rescue operations on the same day, despite difficulties caused by adverse weather conditions.
While two citizens managed to descend the mountain on their own, the other three citizens were reached today.
Of the three citizens reached today, two have lost their lives, while the other citizen has been taken under medical treatment.
It has been learned that the three citizens are expected to return to Turkey tomorrow, and that the bodies of the deceased citizens will be brought to Turkey after the funeral transport procedures are completed.
