2,000 Euros per month for illegal migrants returning to Turkey from Germany

The German government has launched the Reintegration into Your Country program for the voluntary return of those who entered the country illegally.

According to a report by Ali Gülen from Sözcü; it has been determined that 57 percent of Turks or people of Turkish descent who entered the country illegally destroyed their identities and attempted to seek asylum by speaking other languages, “as if they had come from Syria, Afghanistan, or Northern Iraq.” While nearly 100,000 illegal Turkish migrants arrived last year, Turks again made up one-third of those who arrived illegally this year.

ASYLUM IS NOT GRANTED

Since the asylum acceptance rate for those who enter the country illegally barely reaches 10 percent, illegal Turkish migrants are trying to cover their tracks or obtain asylum through other means. While the asylum acceptance rate for Syrians and Afghans exceeds 90 percent, Germany, unable to cope with the situation regarding Turks, launched the “Reintegration into Your Country” program to encourage returns. The goal of the program, called Re-Integration, is for Turks who entered Germany illegally to return to their country voluntarily and to have their livelihood provided for a period in return.

RETURN, GET THE MONEY

Turks who cannot obtain asylum in Germany and are forced to live illegally have started to return voluntarily thanks to this. While 226 Turks returned voluntarily in 2022, the figure was 7 times higher in 2023 once the financial aid began. The number of paid returns is expected to increase in 2024 as well.

WHAT ARE THE AIDS FOR THOSE WHO RETURN VOLUNTARILY?

The following aid is provided to Turks who came to Germany illegally and return voluntarily:

- Return plane, bus, or train ticket,

- Travel assistance. 200 Euros per person. 100 Euros for children under 18,

- All kinds of medical support during the journey and 2,000 Euros net support per month for three months in their home country,

- One-time financial support. 1,000 Euros per person and 500 Euros each for children under 18 in the family.

NO VISA BAN

Apart from this, different programs are also implemented for those who want to start a business in Turkey.

Those who want to return voluntarily from Germany can apply to the program called REAG/GARP 2.0.
