Iran has condemned Israel's attack on civilian residential areas in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and called on the international community to take "decisive measures" to stop Israel.
In a written statement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the attack carried out by Israel on a building in the southern part of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, which resulted in the loss of 31 lives.
Stating that the attacks on Lebanon are a violation of international law and the country's sovereignty, Kanaani said, "There is no doubt that the Zionist regime (Israel), contrary to the overwhelming majority of the world's governments and nations regarding the necessity of achieving a ceasefire, is striving to increase tension in the region and expand the geography of war and conflict. Such a malicious policy is a clear and extremely grave threat to international peace and security."
Kanaani emphasized that "decisive" measures must be taken by the international community to stop the attacks by Israel, which he described as a "mass killing machine," in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria.
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced that 31 people, mostly children and women, lost their lives in an airstrike carried out by Israeli forces on a residential building in the southern part of the capital, Beirut.
