King Charles of England is set to receive a 45 million pound ($58 million) pay raise after profits from the monarch's public estate more than doubled. Profits from The Crown Estate portfolio, a portion of which funds the monarchy, rose by 148% to £1.1 billion ($1.4 billion). This significant increase was primarily driven by the sale of options and lease agreements for offshore wind projects on the seabed surrounding the British Isles.

NET ASSETS OF 21.3 BILLION POUNDS

These high profits mean that the Sovereign Grant, which supports the official duties of the royal family led by King Charles and is funded by taxpayers, will increase by more than 50% to £132 million ($171 million) next year.

The Crown Estate, a national portfolio consisting of historic and commercial land assets, belongs to the British monarch but is managed independently, with its revenues paid to the government. In return, the monarchy currently receives 12% of Crown Estate profits. The British Royal Family is among the wealthiest families in the world. According to Forbes magazine, the Royal Family's net assets are at the level of 21.3 billion pounds. The net value of the Crown Estate, which includes the Royal land holdings, is calculated at 15.6 billion pounds.
