Afghanistan has been hit by heavy rains in its northern and northeastern regions, leading to floods.
Hedayatullah Hamdard, the head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority for the northern province of Baghlan, stated in comments to Kabul-based Tolo News, "So far, 50 people have lost their lives in the floods that occurred in the Burka, Nahreen, and Central Baghlan districts."
Mohammad Akram Akbari, the head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority for the northeastern province of Badakhshan, stated that the floods struck the Tashkan, Yawan, and Tagab districts, causing damage to numerous homes, schools, and places of worship.
Authorities shared information that emergency relief efforts have been launched for the regions affected by the floods.
