6.3 magnitude earthquake in Brazil

A 6.3 magnitude earthquake has occurred in western Brazil.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the western part of the country at 18:31 local time in the evening. 

The earthquake, which was reported to have occurred near the settlements of Ipxuna, Cruzeiro do Sul, and Tarauca, was also strongly felt in Peru.

The GFZ stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 592 kilometers.
