6.9 magnitude earthquake in Papua New Guinea
A 6.9 magnitude earthquake has struck the Oceanian country of Papua New Guinea.

In a statement from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), it was reported that the epicenter of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake was 194 kilometers southeast of the city of Kimbe in the West New Britain province.
A tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake, which occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers.
According to initial reports, there has been no loss of life or property in the earthquake.
Papua New Guinea is located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where most of the world's earthquakes and volcanic activity occur.
