A new George Floyd case in the US

It has been revealed that Frank Tyson (53) died in the US state of Ohio after police used force during his arrest, leaving him breathless as an officer pressed his knee into his neck while he was handcuffed behind his back.

Footage regarding the death of a Black American, who allegedly fled a traffic accident he was involved in on April 18 in the Canton area of Ohio, as a result of police violence was released to the public today.

While the footage recorded by the body cameras of the police officers who intervened in the incident spread rapidly on social media, the event was compared to the death of George Floyd, a Black American who lost his life due to police violence in 2020.

In the footage, it is seen that Tyson, who was taken into custody by police at a cafeteria on the grounds that he was involved in a vehicle accident and was handcuffed behind his back while being pinned to the ground, repeatedly told the police, "They are trying to kill me."

"I CAN'T BREATHE"

Moments are captured on camera where the Black American, lying face down on the ground with his hands handcuffed, says "I can't breathe" multiple times as the police officer makes it difficult for him to breathe by pressing his knee into his neck.

After a few minutes, the police officer, who checks whether the Black man, who has become motionless, is still alive, realizes that Tyson is not breathing and begins performing CPR, and the suspect is subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance.

According to the police statement, Tyson passed away at the hospital, and it was reported that the officers involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

In 2020, Black American George Floyd lost his life as a result of police violence, and following the incident, racism and police violence in the US were protested for weeks in large demonstrations that spread across the country.
