A press conference for the history books: 'The Gaza Strip is the only place in the world where people are warned by bombs'
A press conference was held among the bodies at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, where 500 people lost their lives in an attack carried out by Israel.
Gazan officials held a press conference among the bodies at the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, which was bombed by Israel, resulting in the loss of 500 lives.
Yousef Abu al-Rish, Deputy Minister of Health in Gaza, stated during the press conference that this was not the first attack on the Al-Ahli Hospital, noting that Israeli forces had carried out two attacks on October 14.
Abu al-Rish reported that after the first Israeli attack, he contacted the hospital director, Maher Ayyad, who told him, "You were warned with two bombs yesterday, why hasn't the hospital been evacuated yet?"
APPEAL TO THE WORLD
Announcing that the hospital administration had reached out to Christian clergy in the UK following the threats, Abu al-Rish stated that they had received assurances from international institutions for the hospital to continue its operations.
Stating, "The Gaza Strip is the only place in the world where people are warned by bombs," Abu al-Rish drew attention to the fact that hospitals in Israel are treated as targets and that measures should be taken against this.
Abu al-Rish called on countries around the world to stop Israel from targeting civilians.
In the footage of the press conference, medical personnel are seen standing among covered bodies, while two people sitting on the ground are holding the bodies of a baby and a young girl in their arms. Dr. Ghassan Abu-Sittah, who serves with Doctors Without Borders, noted that they were performing a surgical operation at the hospital when they were startled by the sound of a powerful explosion. Stating that the ceiling of the operating room collapsed, Abu-Sittah said, "This is a massacre."
