Air ambulance crashes in India

An air ambulance carrying 7 people has crashed in the city of Ranchi, located in India's Jharkhand state.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India reported that the Beechcraft C90 aircraft, operated by Redbird Airways, requested a route change at 19:11 local time due to adverse weather conditions, after which communication with the aircraft was lost and it disappeared from radar.

The DGCA announced that search and rescue teams have reached the scene and that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau has been tasked with the investigation. The number of casualties and injuries in the crash has not yet been disclosed.
