Al-Julani's statement on Latakia: A message of unity

Mohammed al-Julani (Ahmed al-Shara), President of the interim administration in Syria, emphasized the integrity of Syria and national unity in a message he released regarding the clashes in Latakia and reports of a massacre of Alawites.

REFERRED TO THE ALAWI POPULATION AS 'REMNANTS'

The statement, released by the Syrian Presidential Media Office, included the following: "Some remnants of the regime are attempting to test the new Syria they do not know. However, today, they are rediscovering Syria; they see that it is one and whole, from east to west, from north to south."

Al-Julani stated that protecting Syria is a shared responsibility for everyone, arguing that the events demonstrate the country's resilience and the spirit of its people.

''WE ARE A NATION THAT FIGHTS WITH HONOR''

Addressing groups allegedly maintaining their loyalty to Bashar al-Assad, al-Julani reacted sharply, saying, "We are a people who want to rebuild this country that you have devastated. We have no intention of shedding anyone's blood. We are a nation that fights with honor, while you are those who fight without honor."

Al-Julani expressed that the actions of pro-Assad groups were not surprising, adding, "We will give them a response they cannot handle."

PRAISED THE MASSACRE PERFORMANCE:

In his statement, al-Julani praised the attitude of the security forces toward the events, using the following expressions:

"I congratulate our army and security forces for their commitment to protecting civilians and ensuring their safety, and for the speed and performance they demonstrated while pursuing the remnants of the collapsed regime. I specifically emphasize to the security forces that they should not allow anyone to overreact or show excessive reactions. What distinguishes us from our enemy is our commitment to our principles."

Stating that forces loyal to Assad are engaging in provocations and that they will not stop pursuing these groups, al-Julani said, "We will bring them to court." At the same time, quoting from the Quran regarding the treatment of prisoners of war, he stated, "God has placed the prisoner in a position where they should be treated with kindness and mercy. Therefore, it is not appropriate to humiliate or beat a prisoner."

Expressing that the protection of civilians living in the regions where clashes are occurring in the coastal area is their priority, al-Julani said, "Despite the betrayal we have suffered, the state will continue to be the guarantor of social peace. We will not allow anyone to touch this."
